Preschool Curriculum
At St. John’s Lutheran Preschool, our curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child and help them grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
All this takes place in a caring, supportive, Christ-centered environment.
We use a developmentally appropriate, play-based approach that encourages children to explore, experiment and problem-solve. Children engage in hands-on learning through a balance of structured and unstructured play as well as teacher guided activities.
Play-based learning encourages children to be active participants in their learning and provides opportunities for children to explore their environment and experiment with new ideas and concepts. All these play activities are theme-based and create a context for children to understand and apply their new knowledge and therefore retain it better.
